Weekly posts to help, encourage, train, and challenge you in your ministry to children
Do It Well
If you are going to … do it well. Do it great! You know the verse:
Col 3:23 Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters,
If you are going to do … anything … do it great! Work at it with all your heart. Do nothing half-hearted.
That includes ministering to children. Or teaching children – as a school teacher or a home school mom. If you are going to do it, do it well. Do it very well.
There are so many resources available for you: curriculum, leadership tools, community groups online, pinterest, and the list goes on. Whatever it is you need help with, help is available.
My years as a children’s minister are my most memory-packed. Such great times. I love hearing from kids that were in my class (parents now) and friends that worked with me. We share memories that are precious to us all.
Now I train and teach and encourage children’s ministers — soooo much fun. I love being around people who love kids. I love their energy, their passion, and their creativity.
I also had the privilege of homeschooling for 6 years. Loved it!!! If I had to do it again, I would start earlier. I didn’t start until my son was entering 8th grade and my daughter was beginning 6th. Loved it.
My beginnings as a children’s minister (and also as a home school mom) were tough. Finding the answers needed, or ideas, or help was tricky. But I wanted to do it well, so I hunted. And God, as always, was faithful.
Regardless what level of commitment you have now with children’s ministry; do it to the utmost. Find the help you need. Ask here, I’m happy to help or point you to a resource if I can! Or perhaps you can answer questions for each other! That’s fun, too.
I’ll be including weekly posts every Friday. Let me know if there is a subject you want to discuss. That would be great!
In the meantime, you can click here to go to my website with children’s ministry materials. Let me know if you have questions. I’m here to help. That’s my job now. 🙂
